I can't imagine how it would feel to see a badger in the flesh - the joy, the wonder. I'm so envious. And the need for a pause - thank you for articulating that. I realise it's what I need where I am now. X

It was incredible - I stood silently staring with my mouth hanging open! And yes to the pause - we aren’t machines to just keep churning stuff out!

Yes! The pause, the rest, the savor, the Sabbath—all are part of creation. Such a wonderful essay, Bonnie, reminding me that there is a rhythm to our lives and paying attention and honoring this phase seems to reconnect us to elemental beauties like ripe fruit and badgers. Beautiful photo.

Oh thank you Leslie! I’m so used to measuring my ‘success’ in terms of what I’ve done, but I’m trying to shift, instead, to how it feels.

I’m with you on the movie thing. It always used to unnerve me how people would just get up and rush out. Particularly after something moving or poignant. I love the pause, I spend some of my best moments there 💕

I know, right? Something has literally just ended, and everyone’s already on to the next thing! The pause feels like the reward, the time to let things settle.

I went to see Hades town in the West end and felt the same. I couldn't leave the theatre for a while. It was such a wonderful performance and I had to soak up the atmosphere. As for badgers I have never seen a live one. What a reward. Love this writing.

Yeah the badger blew my mind to be fair! I called my partner 3 times because I just couldn’t get over it! Haven’t seen Hadestown but maybe I should…
